Googlemap

Since we now have a Google account we can request a Googlemap API key. Check out the URL here: Googlemap API

The API key will be bound to the specific URL you enter at the signup page. Make sure this URL is the URL where you will be hosting the SURFnet IDS web interface. This is the full URL including subdirectories and port.

https://web.example.nl:8080/surfnetids/

The API key you will receive needs to be configured in the configuration file.
/etc/surfnetids/surfnetids-log.conf

#######################
# GeoIP Location Info #
#######################
# Enable GeoIP location database to enable source IP country identification.
$c_geoip_enable = 1;

# The name of the GeoIP module to include. Expected to be in the $c_surfnetidsdir/includes/ directory.
$c_geoip_module = "geoipcity.inc";

# The name of the GeoIP data file. Expected to be in the $c_surfnetidsdir/includes/ directory.
$c_geoip_data = "GeoLiteCity.dat";

# The key used for the Googlemap API
$c_googlemap_key = "ABJKZ06EWvf.....";

Enable the GeoIP module and add the key.

If you didn't download the GeoIP database you should do it now. To do this, you can run the updateGeoIP.pl script located at /opt/surfnetids/logtools/updateGeoIP.pl.

You can also create a cronjob to automatically download the new version every month.

ln -s /opt/surfnetids/logtools/updateGeoIP.pl /etc/cron.monthly/surfids-geoip
